We are so excited to welcome Lisa Ross (aka Paper Daisy Creations) this October, virtually from her home in Indiana. Her class, Design Your Own Multi Colored Shawl, is a journey through design that, once learned, can be easily applied to other projects.

Date of Class:  One Session:  October 10, 1-4 PM Eastern Time

Priced at $125 for a 3 hour class

Skill Level:  Intermediate

Class Description:  This class will teach the basics of creating an asymmetric triangular shawl, with everything you need to cast-on.

Students will learn how to make the numbers add up easily with the help of a spreadsheet and how to track yardage as you create. You’ll explore how to easily incorporate color and clever stitch patterns into a design that’s as unique as you are.

We’ll start with a tiny swatch version, though fast knitters can quickly grow their shawls into gorgeous new designs!

Homework:  None

Materials to Bring to Class:  Two or more colors of the same yarn weight with high contrast to one another and needles sized appropriately for the yarn. These can be scrap yarns, or yarns intended to cast-on a shawl design in class.

Optional Materials: 

• Tablet or laptop with spreadsheet function 
• Kitchen Scale:  We have a scale at the shop and will provide that for our in-person participants to use

Recording:  A recording of the class will be sent to all participants at the conclusion of the class.  

Handouts:  will be provided by Dances With Wool and will be electronically sent to those joining us virtually.  

Bio:  Lisa K. Ross (aka Paper Daisy Creations) is a knitwear designer and mother of four boys living in Bloomington, Indiana. She believes that pairing the right yarn with the perfect technique can unlock something magical, and has made it her mission to find these combinations and share them with the world.

Her process keeps the experience of the knitter in mind to ensure that the work that goes into a creation produces incredible results. She has a deep love of color (making mini-skeins her favorite!) and an obsession with knitting socks that can be explored in her first book, Sock Knitting Success, coming this fall.
