Join us for a guided skill building make along that combines both Crochet and Knitting to make a warm and cozy Jethro Cardigan. Students will be able to take their basic crochet and knitting skills and combine them to make this pattern their own, including learning to make granny squares, joining them together, sewing panels together, picking up and knitting the ribbing, and sleeves to create a one of a kind garment.

This class will consist of live teaching sessions at Dances With Wool with Zoom Q&A sessions in-between to provide students extra support & connection to their fellow class participants.

Skills we will learn this during the guided make along:

• Magic Ring in crochet

• Constructing granny squares and crocheting in ends as we go

• Joining squares as we go to make body panels

• Mattress stitching the panels together

• Picking up stitches

• Ribbing

• Knitting Buttonholes (optional)

• Knitting sleeves

• Learn to decipher the sizing notes of the pattern

• Determining desired positive ease in a garment

• Learning to combine both skills of knitting and crochet

• Blocking finished garments

Skills you should already have:

• Basic knitting skills (knit, purl,  bind off) 

• Basic crochet skills (must know chains, double crochet, slip stitch)

• Familiarity with increases/decreases in knitting like k2tog, SSK

March 8, April 19, May 31, June 14 (Zoom Q&A sessions)

All in-person classes run 2-3 PM, all Zoom Q&A sessions run 2-2:30PM
