Fall Quarter Sessions:

Nov 17 6:00-8:00 PM, Dec 1 & 15 6:00-7:00 PM

Class consists of 3 sessions. The first session will meet for 2 hours to ensure a great start on your cowl. The last 2 sessions will meet for 1 hour each. Please be sure you can attend all three sessions before registering.

In this class we will create Grid Gambit,  a cowl which is worked flat beginning at one corner, shaped with increases and decreases, and seamed after blocking. The cowl features an allover mosaic pattern, built-in I-Cord edges and an I-Cord bind off.

There will be some homework to complete prior to the first class as well as between classes. Please keep this in mind when signing up for this class.

Skills you will learn: 

• Reading a pattern

• Learn how to follow written directions as well as reading and working from a chart

• Mosaic knitting techniques

• I-Cord edges

• Learn various increases and decreases

• Seaming with mattress stitch

• Weaving in ends

Skills you already need to have: Students should be comfortable with casting on, knit and purl stitches

Materials to bring to the first class:

• Pattern- Grid Gambit by Samantha Guerin (available on Ravelry, can also be purchased at the shop)

• Yarn- DK weight (or Sport weight)

• Approx 250 yds of Main Color

• Approx 200 yds of Contrast Color

• Needles-

• US7 (4.5 mm) 24” circulars 

• Stitch markers

• Darning needle
